About carol
Carol has enjoyed a passion in the Fortune 10 – 100 Organizational Development space for 20+ years specializing in Leadership Communication and Relationship Building. She is the founder and CEO of Langford Leadership. She carries a Professional Coaching Certification (PCC) with the International Coach Federation, a Master of Fine Arts from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Certifications from Korn Ferry International’s ‘Executive Presence and Persuasion,’ Dr. Judith Glaser’s ‘Conversational Intelligence,’ Shirzad Chamine’s ‘Positive Intelligence,’ Dr. Joe Dispenza’s ‘NeuroChange Solutions,’ Dr. Helen Fisher’s neurochemistry of leadership in ‘Business Chemistry,’ Tracom’s ‘Social Styles,’ Center for Action and Contemplation’s ‘The Enneagram,’ Baltimore Mediation’s ‘Relational Leadership,’ and Search for Common Ground’s ‘Conflict Transformation,’ among others.
Prior to her corporate vocation, Carol served as Associate Professor, City University of New York where she taught a global population in the Humanities Department. Classes emphasized ‘English Composition,’ ‘Public Speaking,’ ‘Principles in Dialogic Communication,’ ‘History of Theatre,’ ‘Voice and Diction.’
A parallel career path for Carol occurred in the non-profit sector from 2001 – 2021 where she served as Executive Director in charge of disbursements to non-profit organizations which she vetted for a private family foundation. This work has taken Carol on service trips to Sierra Leone, West Africa for conflict transformation (Search for Common Ground), Nicaragua for micro-lending to small business owners (Opportunity International Board of Governors); the Amazon Rainforest for environmental sustainability (The Pachamama Alliance Stewardship Circle). She served on the Board of Developing Radio Partners for building community radio stations in Africa and still serves on the Leadership council of Convergence Center for Policy Resolution in Washington, D.C. As Deacon of Marble Collegiate Church 2010-2013, she also served as a Board member of the Collegiate Corporation and the Madison Avenue Council’s Benevolence Committee. She co-founded their ‘Values and Leadership Roundtable’ and co-produced its 2011 Values / Leadership Summit.
After college, Carol taught high school English, co-founded with her brother and a partner a highly successful retail company, and acted, directed, and wrote for the professional theatre. She lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn and loves film, theatre, museums, and all the fulfillment which accompany living in the diverse environs of New York City.
